Why us?

Consult with an Oncology Expert

Feeling overwhelmed and out of control is common when you are first diagnosed with caner.
It’s natural to experience a range of emotions – denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance – as described by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross.

With over 20 years of clinical experience at National Cancer Center Hospital and St. Luke’s International Hospital in Tokyo, Dr. Eriko provides evidence-based, personalized guidance to help you find the most appropriate treatment path together.

Consultations are available in both Japanese and English, including second opinions.

Palliative care both at the clinic and at home

We enhance the value and quality of end-of-life care for patients and their families by focusing on education and advocacy. The majority of Japanese (70%) say they would prefer to be cared for and die at home, and yet only 17.4%(2021) of patients receive hospice care at home. Across countries and cultures, similar realities persist worldwide.

We focus on what you value at the end of your life.

We welcome patients who need medical care for a wide range of health issues

We can provide medical care in English to anyone, including tourists. Feel free to discuss any medical concerns with us today.

Meet Dr. Eriko

Welcome to Lotus Clinic. Dr. Eriko Nakano is a medical oncologist with over 20 years of experience in cancer care.

She completed her early clinical training in both Japan and the United States, where she gained valuable exposure to diverse medical settings. After completing her residency, she practiced at the National Cancer Center, Tokyo for 5 years and later at St. Luke’s International Hospital for 16 years as a medical oncologist, where she served as Associate Director of the Oncology Center. She cared for a wide range of patients, collaborated with specialists in surgery, radiation oncology, palliative care, and psycho-oncology while she was actively involved in the education and training of residents and fellows. She was also part of the International Department, where she regularly cared for patients from overseas in her outpatient clinic.

With this background, she can deliver not only cancer consultations and second opinions, but also broad medical support in both English and Japanese.

Her mission is to be “a doctor you can feel valued by, with or without cancer.”

We welcome local residents as well as international patients, including tourists. The clinic also accepts overseas travel insurance for visitors who need medical care while in Japan.

Lotus Clinic is where care meets dignity.
